This post is rather long and since it is rather late I have combined all of our December activities in to one post.
Christmas was a blur this year! It seemed to sneak up on us and then leave abruptly.
December is always busy. Ricky's birthday is the 11th, our anniversary is the 20th, basketball tournaments and Mamaw kept us in turbo speed. This year was even more hectic since Ricky and I left at 10pm on Christmas night for a week in Orlando.
We started the season off with reading Chloe "Elf on the Shelf" and explaining to her how the elf watches over her and reports back to Santa each night. She named her elf "Sweetie Pie", so cute I know, and it wasn't even a coached named. Then came all the decorating. In fact as I sit here I must add that we took all the inside decorations down by Jan. 2nd, however our outside lights are still up and on! LOL
Mamaw got to come and spend 10 days with us in early December. She arrived during a snow storm and left during one as well! The weather was crazy cold while she was here, but it was so nice to have her with us! Chloe got to spend some wonderful time with her and open a few presents as well!
Christmas Eve Day we stopped by Papaw's house to open one gift and has some yummy snacks then
Christmas Eve Night we headed off to see Ricky's family in Elizabethton! It was loads of fun getting to see everyone. I also must admit the food is really good too!
On the way home we stopped to see my parents and my brother's family and open one gift each.
Christmas Day was packed with food, fun and presents. This year Chloe seemed to really get into Christmas even more so than last year. Of course I guess it helps that she is a year older too! .
Christmas morning was fun. We woke up around 9am and opened presents. Chloe was so excited to see all of her gifts. I think she was kinda overwhelmed by it all. Every time she would open something she would want us to take it out of the entire packaging so she could hold/play with it right then. It was cute but kinda aggravating!
After presents, we had our traditional Christmas breakfast. My parents came over and just the 5 of us ate some yummy eggs, bacon, toast, and home fries. We then headed off still in our pj's to see Papaw and Nana's house. We ate some more yummy brunch food and opened more gifts. We headed back home to pack for Orlando and clean up the house.
We spent Christmas night and my parents house with my brother's family. The food was yummy and we all had a blast. Of course by this point in the day we had about 6 inches of snow and I was getting nervous about leaving for Orlando!
The Christmas Season was so much fun! Enjoy the next pictures!
